General Conditions of Use and Vehicle Hire

This website is operated by ASAS Rent A Car STP, a company dedicated to vehicle hire in São Tomé and Príncipe.
By accessing and using this website, the user declares that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2. Scope of Service

To hire a vehicle through ASAS Rent A Car STP, the customer must:
Be at least 21 years old
Hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year
Present a valid identification document (Passport or Identity Card)
Make the required payment or deposit at the time of booking or vehicle collection
The company reserves the right to refuse hire if these requirements are not met.

3. Hire Requirements

To hire a vehicle through ASAS Rent A Car STP, the customer must:
Be at least 21 years old

Make the required payment or deposit at the time of booking or vehicle collection

4. Bookings

Bookings made through the website are subject to confirmation by ASAS Rent A Car STP.
A booking will be considered valid after:
Confirmation by email, telephone, or message
Payment of the requested amount (where applicable)
The company will make every effort to provide the reserved vehicle or one of an equivalent category.

5. Payments

Payments may be made via:
Bank transfer
Cash
Other available methods indicated on the website
Prices displayed on the website are indicative and may be changed without prior notice.

6. Security Deposit

A security deposit may be required when collecting the vehicle.
The deposit is intended to cover:
Damage to the vehicle
Traffic fines
Missing fuel
Late return
The deposit will be refunded after the vehicle’s condition is checked upon return.

7. Use of the Vehicle

The customer agrees to use the vehicle responsibly and in accordance with the traffic laws of São Tomé and Príncipe.
It is strictly prohibited to:
Allow unauthorised persons to drive the vehicle
Use the vehicle for illegal activities
Drive under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances
Use the vehicle for racing or illegal transport
Failure to comply may result in immediate termination of the contract.

8. Damage and Accidents

In the event of an accident, breakdown, or damage, the customer must:
Inform ASAS Rent A Car STP immediately
Contact local authorities when necessary
Cooperate in completing any reports or accident statements
The customer may be held responsible for damage caused during the hire period, in accordance with the contract terms.

9. Cancellations

Bookings may be cancelled under the following conditions:
Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the scheduled collection time may be refunded, where applicable
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may be subject to administrative fees of up to one day’s hire

10. Personal Belongings

ASAS Rent A Car STP is not responsible for personal items left or forgotten inside the vehicles.

11. Data Protection

Personal data collected through the website will be used exclusively for:
Booking management
Customer communication
Compliance with legal obligations
The company is committed to protecting the privacy and security of users’ information.

12. Changes to Terms

ASAS Rent A Car STP reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will take effect upon publication on the website.

13. Fuel Policy

Vehicles are delivered with a certain fuel level.
The customer agrees to return the vehicle with the same fuel level.
If returned with less fuel, the company may charge:
The cost of the missing fuel
A refuelling service fee

14.Vehicle Delivery and Return

Delivery and return will take place at a location agreed between the customer and ASAS Rent A Car STP.
Additional services may include:
Hotel delivery
Airport delivery
Collection at an agreed location
These services may be subject to additional charges, as indicated at the time of booking.

15. Late Return

The customer agrees to return the vehicle at the agreed date and time.
In case of delay:
An additional charge equivalent to one day’s hire may apply
Longer delays may incur further charges according to the company’s pricing
If a delay is expected, the customer must inform ASAS Rent A Car STP as soon as possible.

16. Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws in force in São Tomé and Príncipe.
